Oooh, it be snowin' in the STL and it is putting me in the most Chrismukky of moods!

I am drinkin' a latte and packin' up my apartment and sorting out Things To Keep versus Things To Toss.

That said, it is time for another installment of one of my favorite traditions:
Sending You "A Mystery Gift" That I Deemed Trashworthy For Myself!

This may include:
- bad pictures of people I don't know/remember
- terrible CDs/books
- sunglasses Rose lost in my couch
- other sundry items!

Being particularly apropos given the time of year, it will not just be a package, but a Chrismukkah greeting as well.

Whether you are on my LJ Friends List, or just a random reader, I invite you to partake in my Chrismukkah Crap Giveaway! All you need to do is e-mail me your snail mail address: kpomranz@yahoo.com.

Happy "Holy Crap, Is That A Picture of Matt Heayn?!" Holidays!

Dear LiveJohnal,

I've been rethinking the divorce. I know I said that we'd grown apart... that I was too busy for you. You encouraged me to express myself, but I sat there, mute, depressed... I'm so sorry. I thought I needed freedom, I dreamed of exploring the wide open web on my own. But day after day, as I scroll and witness all of the other happy Blog-Blogger relationships... I think I spoke too soon. Five years together is far too much time to just admit defeat on an open-appled whim. Whaddaya say? Can we give it another go?

Love,
VCRBeauty

oof.

they are cutting down a perfectly good, nay, gorgeous and willowy and awesome tree outside of my window for no reason whatsoever. i feel like the lorax.

except that it's 9am and the murder started at 7. so, y'know, i'm a sleepy lorax.

i am extra sleepy because i went out end-of-semester celebrating last night. the celebration involved me spraining - breaking? - my foot, and leslie being robbed and/or hoaxed. after yelling at lesbians and policemen, we got home around 4. i ate some chicken and went to bed.

chainsaws then woke me up three hours later and my foot is covered in frozen peas. that's where we currently stand. or, well, lay. with lorax foot elevated.

As some of you [cool] people know, The Lost Experience begins soon... and with the debut of Hanso Foundation's commercial (1-877-HANSORG [note for weenies: don't go poking around the phone menu when you are alone at 2 in the morning]), the viral marketing has already begun!

It's 3:14 am and I've been easter egg hunting for hours!

Ahh, Samuel Beckett humor is my favorite kind of humor.

So this semester really kicked my ass. I mean hardcore pummeled my tushie with cleats. Hard to believe that in a week it will all be over. No more mint marketing, no more comm law, no more mathematic formulae I can't wrap my weenie brain around.

Finals are looming, but the actual classes have been tucked to sleep.

I feel weird. I should probably sleep, huh?

Pennsylvania was once a test market for Pepsi-Kona, a cola-coffee hybrid that was, pretty much, The Best Thing Ever. Unfortunately, Carly and I were not the whole of the test market - much to our chagrin - and Pepsi-Kona suffered a swift death by caffeine. Ahem. Eight years later (read: this week), Coke launched its new cola-coffee hybrid, Coke Blak. But... But... But I don't drink Coke! It's like they found out I was boycotting and devised the solitary thing that could potentially reel me back. Somewhere out there, an evil percolated professor is drumming his fingertips and "Excellent"-ing my distress. Brehh!

I bought a vacuum.

Things I am super sick of:
+ Being condescended and second-guessed. Constantly.
+ This semester. Seriously. WTF.
+ Having no time for anything, ever.
+ Not being able to volunteer because I have too much schoolwork and workwork.
+ Tornadoes.
+ Natural disasters in general (with emphasis on tornadoes and SF earthquakes).
+ St. Louis in general.
+ Feeling guilty for taking 3 min. to even write this much.

Things I am not super sick of:
+ Eric

Goodbye until May 9.

My brain and I have had quite a bit of alone time recently. It's been nice, although (as always) thinking too much has transposed into analyzing too much. But sick of stewing in animosity, here are some positive conclusions my brain and I have come to recently:

1. I'm going to go to Columbia's grad school. Don't tell me I am disillusioned in my assumption that I will get in. I understand it's difficult. I'm going to do it anyway.

2. Amy is going to move to New York with me. Again, don't bother me with your notions of improbability. She is the only person I care about in St. Louis, and she must come with or I will lose it. Case closed.

3. I'm going to live in Williamsburg. No, I don't know how I'm going to afford this. But, for that matter, I don't know how I'm going to afford Columbia grad school, so pffppt.

4. Sara is my own personal Anne of Green Gables and I love her for it.

A couple of weeks ago, Lindsey started this "Top 10 Lyrics Countdown" list that has pretty much brightened up my every morning. I don't know what it is about reading her musical obsessions that both fascinates me and inspires me (although I usually read them, drinking fresh coffee in tandem, while wrapped in my favorite Holland America post-shower snuggle robe, so that might have something to do with it), but it has brought me so much simple pleasure that I could only imagine how mollifying it must be to conduct such a countdown myself.
So, I'm stealing straight from Lindsey's format and beginning.... now.

I'm originally posting all these to Friendster, but reposting them in [info]vcrmusic, if you're interested.

School
Upon completion of my presentation tomorrow night, I will officially have Nothing To Do for almost two weeks. I am so excited I can hardly breathe. Although that might have something to do with my diagnosis: bronchitis.

In other totally awesome school type news, I have mapped out the rest of my educational career. I have two semesters and ten classes left, and I miraculously worked it out so that I can take all of my lame required courses and still fenagle all of the rad electives I want! These include:
Freelance Writing
Photojournalism
20 C. Russian History
...and...
Dinos: Fact or Fiction?

Oh man. Life is good. Just having an end in sight makes me giddy.

Television
TV needs to quit taking over my life. Here is a rattling of shows I am dedicated to:
Lost, America's Next Top Model, American Idol, The O.C. (I'm about three weeks behind), 24 (about four episodes behind), Scrubs, The Office.

While it is helpful that both Project Runway and Beauty and the Geek are ending this week, I am also potentially opening the door to: Black. White., America's Next Great Inventor and Unan1mous. And goddamn Deal Or No Deal straight to hell!

Job
Is good. And I got a reprint in SF Weekly!

Although, according to the previous section, I should probably find a job writing about television. Mmmmm.... watchingTVforaliving....

Health
See: bronchitis

Other
Going on Spring Break (woohoo!) to NYC for a week. This means lots of Eric, one dose of Taco Trivia Tuesday, and, apparently, sitting in Sara's apartment and commanding her to clean things. Ooooh booooyyyy.... what happens in Cabo stays in Cabo.

I am updating my LJ from school! I am like a real college student.

I don't actually have anything to say other than:
"...you mean to tell me you live in a hoouuse? And you're going to... kahlij?!"

Ohhhh mannnnn... I miss The Dit Book. To all Dit-friends, you should leave a comment with your favorite Dit.

Next midterm in 15 mins. After that, only one more to go. Then, a real entry. I swear.

Poi!

"This is truly American ugliness that no other country in the world can compete with," journalist Saleh al-Humaidi told Reuters in Yemen.

"The Americans ought to apologize to mankind for their government's lie to the world that it is fighting for freedom and that it came to Iraq to save it from Saddam Hussein's oppression," he said.

...remember in elementary school when you had a substitute teacher and you all planned to drop your books at 10 a.m. on the dot?

I think America should schedule a date and time to stand outside and scream "We're sorry."

Stacy received a callback for America's Next Top Model!

If each of Stacy's friends donates $10 (or, of course, more if you want), we can get her to Top Model!

$250 would easily cover gas and tolls and show Stacy how much we believe in her!

SEND STACY TO ANTM!!!!!

Here's the DONATION BUCKET:

Friends of Stacy, PLEASE feel free to x-post this!

Maybe you guys will suck at this one less....

1. Pick your top 20 favorite movies.
2. Pick your favorite quote (or if you can't think of one, check IMDB) and list them.
3. Have your friends comment and see if they know the movies.
4. When someone guesses correctly, strike out the line and list the correct name of the movie next to it.

1. "Look, I don't even know you, I barely just met you, I certainly don't like you, and you're ugly, besides."
2. "I'm starvin'. Let's get some fucking freennnch toooaaast." (40 Year Old Virgin, [info]hndinglove)
3. "Bet you didn't count on my loyal army of prostitutes!" (Dirty Work, [info]hexopod)
4. "I sure was surprised the day Lisa Flanagan asked me for a ride home and ended up blowing me." (Election, [info]stumpsforhands)
5. "No, no, no... Death is "not." Death isn't. Take my meaning? Death is the ultimate negative. Not-being. You can't not be on a boat."
6. "So the killer flees on horseback with the girl, the cop's after them on a motorcycle and it's like a battle between motors and horses, like technology vs. horse." (Adaptation, [info]stumpsforhands)
7. "Joel, hide me in your humiliation!"
8. "There's snakes on the plane and there ain't a goddamn thing you can do about it!" (Snakes on a Plane, [info]stumpsforhands)

13. "Oh god. The cat. Who's going to get the goddamn cat?" (Squid and the Whale, [info]ellenneithernor)

15. "You can't really dust for vomit." (This Is Spinal Tap, [info]stumpsforhands)
16. "Hey, we could go to Pittsburgh! I kinda grew up there. They have this room with all the world's famous statues in it, so you don't even have to go to Europe any more... just go to Pittsburgh."
17. "You shoot off a guy's head with his pants down, believe me, Texas ain't the place you want to get caught."
18. "It's by black people mostly. And they're pretty angry most of the time. But sometimes they just want to have sex." (About A Boy, [info]stumpsforhands)
